Disputes
between employers and employees can be very
draining on all involved. If conflict in the
workplace is not resolved, it can lead to
decreased productivity, lowered morale,
absenteeism, and even workplace violence. The
traditional way of resolving such disputes has
been to resort to time consuming and expensive
litigation.
Now
employers and workers are increasingly turning to
mediation as an alternative method of dispute
resolution. Mediation is a voluntary and
confidential process where disputing parties meet
with a mediator. The mediator is neither a judge
nor a censor but serves as a neutral and involved
third party who assists in reaching agreement and
resolution. The process is democratic, fair,
protective, and healing as well.
Through
our employment mediation program, Mediation
Matters can help you deal with and resolve your
workplace issues of discrimination, sexual
harassment, wrongful termination, and other
employment issues with dignity and respect for all
involved. In most cases, the dispute is resolved
in a day or less. Most importantly, unlike
litigation where judges and juries decide the
outcome, the parties determine if the case will be
resolved and, if so, what the outcome will be.
Mediation
Matters' team of mediators is comprised of
professionals in the fields of labor law, human
relations, clinical psychology, and public sector
EEO. Our team is rich in diversity, drawing upon
age, ethnic and gender differences to enhance and
complement the mediation process. We are unique in
that, unlike most mediation services, we work with
you in co-mediation teams. With over 65 years of
combined experience, our principal mediators are
extremely qualified to deal with the myriad of
complex disputes and conflicts that arise in the
workplace.

to resolve disputes and reach a mutually
acceptable agreement and. beyond that, to deal
with change and build cooperation more
effectively.
Who

Workplace disputes are often a composite of
interpersonal, organizational, and legal issues.
Resolutions are easier to achieve when the
resources of different professions and different
perspectives are brought to the table allowing us
to better understand the points of disagreement.
Our backgrounds enable us to bring a multi-perspectival
view to your situation, allowing us to grasp it
more fully.
